Dress of Light

2014

Loosely late victorian in style, with a long train, bustle and metres of gathered net and fabric. Featuring (not-so-Victorian!) reflective ruffles, flowers and binding.

Angel

2015

This costume was originally created for an exhibition on the theme of Advent. I decided to explore how angels are described in the Bible, in contrast to the typical nativity child with a tinsel halo. I found references to angels being terrifying, covered in eyes, with faces like lighting, crystal bodies and bronze limbs. It felt suitable to create a warrior like costume in response to these descriptions.

'Angel' was a finalist in the World of Wearable Art Awards Show in Wellington, New Zealand, in September 2015.
